Descaling

Please be aware that your steam generator unit will need to be descaled regularly or used with filtered water- we recommend Zero water. This is available to buy on our website, we understand that this maybe an inconvenience but it is necessary to ensure the lifespan of your unit. Alternatively you could use filtered rain water as this will dramatically reduce how often you need to descale.

Over half of the country is effected by hard water and meaning that descaling needs to be done every 3-6 fills in very hard water areas and 10-15 fills in hard/ medium water areas.

Here’s why: limescale forms on heating elements and surfaces due to calcium found in water which gradually decreases performance, increases running costs and shortens the life of the element. The descaler is a specially formulated mild citric acid that’s safe for use in commercial environments, yet powerful enough to thoroughly clean out the inside of the steamer while ensuring elements and machinery are left undamaged.

You can check for a limescale build up by having a look through the hole you put water in, you need to push the black rubber seal to one side and have a look in, this isn’t the easiest to to but is possible, you can then monitor yourself if you need to descale more regularly.
